Games I want to play: Fiasco

Fiasco is the 2011 Diana Jones Award-winning game from Bully Pulpit Games, designed by Jason Morningstar. In Fiasco, best laid plans and intentions get turned on their head and defeat is snatched from the jaws of victory,  but in a good way, all over the course of a single satisfying session.

It most certainly is.

The way the game is structured, breaking play down into a finite number of scenes and acts, calls to mind some of the Japanese TRPGs I've played, such as Shinobigami and Ryuutama. The 20-page 'Replay' (a transcription of an actual play session popular in Japanese gamerdom) near the end of the book reinforces this for me.
Geek and Sundry's Tabletop  featured the game earlier in 2012. If you are the least bit curious about the game this is an excellent way to learn more about it.

Fiasco is a game I want to play.
